Begin your visit with a freshly-made coffee from Bristol-based Clifton Coffee Roasters!

Choose from a range of freshly made sandwiches, soup, oven-baked pastries or cakes and snacks. Gluten-free and vegan options are available.

Where can you find us?

Courtyard Cafe is close to the entrance, and exit, making it the perfect place to start or finish your visit to Bristol Zoo Project.

Base Camp Pizzeria

Enjoy a freshly-baked sourdough pizza or one of our delicious hot dogs, as well as cakes, coffees and snacks.

Lighter bites include skin-on fries and garlic flatbread.

Open 10am-3pm, weekends and school holidays.

Where can you find us?

Base Camp Pizzeria is at the entrance to Bear Wood, with views over the cheetah habitat.

Little Explorers lunch deal

Little explorers can choose from their own special menu for smaller appetites.

Offering great value for money, each little explorers meal includes a piece of fresh fruit and a fruit juice carton or canned water to quench their thirst.

Perfect picnics

Bring your own food and drink, or pick up something from one of our food and drink outlets, and choose from a variety of picnic spots. Our top picnic picks are:

  • Tower Meadow - pull up a picnic rug, or sit right in the grass, and enjoy peaceful views of the listed Hollywood Mansion House and Tower

  • Sanctuary Garden - picnic benches with shading and a view of the herbaceous border

  • Tropical House - undercover picnic benches for rain or shine, close to Courtyard Café

  • Explorers Basecamp - picnic benches (some with shade), and a large grassy area with great views of and access to our newest play area

  • Wilder - picnic benches with a view of our Wilder gorilla sculpture and close to the Courtyard Café

  • Fun Fort - undercover picnic benches for rain or shine, close to toilets and play area

Plate to Planet – onsite recycling and composting

Please use the recycling facilities provided or take rubbish home with you.

If it is free from food and liquid, please use the dedicated food waste bins. Coffee cups and pizza boxes can be composted by using the signposted bins.
